One Direction City: A rebuttal!

She is a terribly bad writer, and while I may not be published? My husband is, and he agrees, for what that is worth. Her grammar is atrocious, her sentence structure is completely fucked, her characters are hollow and empty and exhibit unrealistic traits. There is no drive to care about what they are.

The only merit it has is to set in front of people in English classes - like Twilight - to show people how NOT to write a book. The erotica is not erotic, it is stilted and awkward like a 13 year old’s personal fap-fic. And it is unrealistic in an unhealthy way.

When you have a self-insertion story ala Twilight or FSOG, you have something the reader doesn’t passively read. They see themselves as Ana or Bella, whether or not they realize it, and they fall into the role. In stories like these two badly written books, the abusive relationships that are idealized CAN be passed on to the read a idealized and what things should be like.

As someone who watches wrestling and horror movies I’m not one to make such accusations lightly. But it is the nature of the self-insert fanfic style of ‘book’.

FSOG is horribly written, barely edited, not fleshed out and hollow to the core. Analytically. If you want something better written, better narrated and all around more interesting, read a children’s book: Roald Dahl’s “Danny - the Champion of the World”. That is a good book. Looking for smut? Search the internet and I guarantee you can find thousands of stories better than this.

I’ll step off of my soapbox now. I don’t often do such things, promise!

I am offended and I honestly do not appreciate people bashing on E L James works. I mean, yes.. the story was a twilight fanfic BUT they have different plots. So what the fuck are you whining about? I heard she didn’t study to be an author and yet she wrote a good story. She overused some words…
